WAC Mary Duman will be offering summer clay classes at her Wrightwood ceramics studio during May, June, and July. Her offerings include, an introduction to ceramic sculpture, open clay studio sessions, private wheel throwing lessons, and private group clay parties. Open Clay Studio
Play with clay in a fun supportive environment! Self-directed studio time. Some experience with clay is required. If you do not have experience, please reply to this email to schedule an introductory session. I am available for questions and support.
Saturdays 9:30-11:30 a.m., May 28th, June 4th, 11th, 25th, July 9th, and 16th (no studio June 18th or July 2nd).
1 session for $35 (2 session minimum: 1 day to form clay, 1 day to glaze bisqueware + pick up finished artwork).
6 sessions for $175.
Introduction to Ceramic Sculpture
Learn basic ceramic sculpture techniques and develop your sculptural vocabulary. Hand building techniques will include pinch, coil, slab, and reductive carving.
Wednesdays 4:00-6:00 p.m., May 25th – June 29th.
6 sessions for $200 (minimum of 4 students required or class will be canceled).
Private Wheel Throwing Lessons
One-on-one instruction in throwing on a potter’s wheel. This is a very technical process and requires individual instructions in addition to ongoing practice. Once you have had an individual lesson, you may use the potter’s wheel during open studio sessions.

Private Clay Party
Celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy playing with clay with friends and/or family. All ages and skill levels are welcome!
