Symbiosis: The Art of Relationship

Ceramics by Mary Duman

Opening Reception
November 26th, 5PM – 8PM

Wrightwood Arts Center
6020 Park Drive

Exploring the complexity of natural relationships, Mary combines natural objects that she collects on her hikes with glazed clay sculptural elements. She is influenced by the oddly beautiful aspects of nature and by recent issues, including climate change, the Coronavirus, wildfires, and unexplained aerial phenomena. The show title, “Symbiosis,” refers to relationships that are beneficial and parasitic. Her intention is to stimulate a deeper exploration of our relationships, as part of the web of life, in a way that embodies the mystery and the magic of life on planet earth in 2021.
