Join the WAC for a visit to the new Cheech Marin Center for Chicano Art & Culture at the Riverside Art Museum in downtown Riverside on Wednesday, March 29th. The center is possibly the first museum in the US entirely devoted to showcasing Chicano art and culture. Marin hopes the project will inspire a sort of Chicano Art Renaissance in the Inland Empire. The center’s fundamental mission is to showcase artwork that other museums don’t. The reviews have been phenomenal and this new museum is definitely worth the short drive to Riverside!
Afterwards we will have a scatter lunch in downtown Riverside. Lynn will provide a map of eateries in the area.
We will not be setting up carpools, but instead you will caravan with your friends. If you need help with a carpool, please contact Lynn Crawford (contact info below).
Cost is $20 for WAC members and $25 for non-members, which includes the museum entry fee. Reservations must be made by March 22nd.
